Challenge

A leading bioscience research institution sought to optimize the physical experience to sustain their future potential as an Institution. They understood it would not only ensure that each employee has a comfortable place to work, but simultaneously ensure that their model of team science succeed and thrives (beyond conference rooms), and positively impact their ability to recruit and retain great talent.

My Role

I served as project manager, senior researcher and design strategist at brightspot.

Outcome

We co-created a cohesive vision and set of design principles to guide decision-making pertaining to the Institute’s physical experience for the next five years. This included building upon research to date, identifying the range of workstyles and space needs, developing new concepts for the workplace experience and testing through pilots, and leading a strategy development process that engaged the community and enables future organizational change.
